[ Royce steadies him, and then leans up to press a kiss to his temple. Just because. Since he's being gross and domestic. ]

Come on, then.

[devoutish]

Come here first.

[He's going to take Royce's face in his hands and give him a forehead kiss right back. Like you do.]

[bywolves]

[ Royce hums, low, pleased at the kiss. ]

Thanks.

[devoutish]

You're welcome, darling. Now, find me that shirt.

[bywolves]

You can come help me find that shirt. [ Royce says, amused, dragging Alfie to the bedroom with him. ]

[devoutish]

You're the one who'd know where it is.

[Grumble grumble! But Royce can pretty much drag him anywhere, so he goes along without complaint. The animals follow eagerly, bumping into their legs as they go.]

[bywolves]

[ Royce nearly trips over both Bear and Lady several times on the way to the bedroom, grouching at them. Both animals seem unconcerned with the grouching, more interested in what their humans are doing than not getting in the way. ]

Here. [ Royce says, tossing the shirt to Alfie once he's found it. ] Try it.

[devoutish]

[Alfie strips off his undershirt, tossing it out of the way (it lands on Bear's head; Bear seems fine with this) before pulling on the shirt Royce is offering. It's not tight on him - though it'd be baggy on Royce, just like the shirt he's wearing now - but the proportions are off, and it was clearly meant for someone of Royce's build rather than someone of Alfie's.

He turns to Royce for a verdict, knowing full well that he looks ridiculous.]

[bywolves]

[ Royce grins, trying not to laugh. It looks ridiculous, but that's just because the proportions are off, okay. ]

I'm definitely going to wish for a shirt like this for you. [ Royce says, folding his arms. ] Suits you.

[devoutish]

I don't even need to look in a mirror to tell that it doesn't.

[He huffs, amused, as he starts to pull it off.]

These are the shirts that people put writing and designs on, yeah? Are you gonna wish for mine to say something?

[bywolves]

If I wish for one that fits you, it will. [ Royce argues cheerfully. ] As for what it should say, I think get off my lawn would be appropriate.

[ Tease, tease. ]

[devoutish]

[Royce u asshole]

"Get off my lawn"? Why?

[bywolves]

Seems like an appropriate thing for a grouchy old man to yell at his neighbors.

[devoutish]

[Watch, he's going to try to toss this shirt onto Royce's head now.]

[bywolves]

[ It's a pretty good toss, and it lands on Royce's shoulder, and that's his cue to just laugh. ]

[devoutish]

[Mission accomplished, because Royce laughing is always a good outcome. He rescues the undershirt from Bear, who'd started to chew on it, and takes it into the bathroom to put it in the hamper.]

I'm gonna get dressed properly, thank you.

[bywolves]

I refuse to lay in a bed with you after you've sweat through all of your clothes. [ Royce tells him, moving over to sit down on their bed. ]

There are short sleeved shirts in there. Wear one. [ He just doesn't want Alfie to overheat is all!! ]

[devoutish]

I'll shower off once we've gotten to the treehouse.

[He calls from the bathroom.]

I'll even bring a change of clothes.

[bywolves]

[ A pause, and then: ] Are you really that against showing skin?

[devoutish]

Mm-- I suppose it's not entirely that. It just seems strange, to me. Like wearing a swimming costume on the street.

[bywolves]

Hm. I suppose.

If you're uncomfortable doing it, don't, but I think nobody is going to give you a second look if you walk through the Meadous with a short sleeved shirt. They don't look at me.

[devoutish]

I'm not self-conscious about it. I'm just not accustomed to it, that's all.

[bywolves]

Okay. [ A beat. ] Put on a shirt, then, and let's go.

[devoutish]

Pants, too.

[Long pants. Someone please convince him to wear a full summer outfit. He'll even grab his hat when they're on the way out the door.]

[bywolves]

[ Royce just gives him a look. ]

You're going to have to change and shower before I get anywhere close to you, once we're there. [ Royce tells him, wrinkling his nose. ]
