[Royce is the sweetest person in the world; that is objective fact. Alfie hmmms softly, and repeats:]

[ He's glad someone thinks so. ]

Mm. [ He hums in agreement, almost sleepily. ]

Gonna fall asleep on me there?

Maybe. [ Shift, stretch. ] It wouldn't be hard to. This is the best I've felt all week.

[devoutish]

I wish you could have come into the game with us.

[He idly fluffs his fingers through Royce's hair.]

Mm. Maybe it'll come back. [ A beat. ] It's not done with yet, is it? Maybe I can just experience some of it.

[devoutish]

[Alfie's eyes brighten.]

Will you come in tomorrow?

[bywolves]

Yeah. Sure, I can do that.

[devoutish]

There's a wonderful baths where you can rest.

[bywolves]

Mm, I'd like to see what they look like so we can wish for them.

[devoutish]

Even the floors are warm. How do you suppose that's done, electricity or magic?

[bywolves]

I imagine there's a way to do it with electricity, but it is a world created by a godling.

[devoutish]

Then I suppose we'll be able to ask him to make sure the towels are always warm, too.

[It's winter, okay; he's been dreaming about this.]

Mm. That can probably be arranged. [ It's fine, he's also been dreaming about warm. ] The space heaters will help us, too.

[devoutish]

We'll be the warmest people in the Meadous. The masses will crowd at our door.

[bywolves]

Ugh. [ He says, half playfully, half serious. ] We'll need to wish for locks, then.

[devoutish]

I'm surprised that it doesn't bother you that we don't have them already, actually.

[bywolves]

I don't have much worth stealing that isn't always on my person.

And locks don't mean much to many people here, anyway.

[devoutish]

Mm. You wouldn't have caught me leaving my doors open in London, but I got used to it in Norfinbury, I suppose.

[bywolves]

I never really had rooms to lock. I was usually the one picking them, if there were any.

[devoutish]

We could wish for locks and not give you the key. It'd give you something to do.

[bywolves]

[ Snort. He pinches Alfie's side. ]

I have plenty to do that isn't being locked out of my house in the middle of winter.

[devoutish]

Are you sure? I think it sounds fun.

[bywolves]

You know what else sounds fun? Me throwing all of your coats out in the snow.
