Mmhm. Always. [ He says, pleased. Here goes the first sip, which he enjoys very much. ]

Right. Is getting drunk still the plan, then?

[bywolves]

I don't know, is it? You're the one who suggested it.

[devoutish]

[Alfie lightly kicks him in the ankle.]

It is, yeah.

[bywolves]

[ With a bit of a grin, he takes another swig, and then hands the bottle to Alfie. ]

Yeah, mate.

[devoutish]

Mar above.

[He swipes the bottle and takes a swig of his own.]

I seem to remember you once telling me that drinking out of the bottle like this was fucking sacrilege. How far we have fallen, eh?

[bywolves]

It still is. [ Royce says, dramatically. ] But I'm too old to care about what sort of sin I'm committing. And I'm comfortable. Don't want to get up to get glasses.

[devoutish]

Mmm. I'm not sure that we have any up here, anyway. Terrible oversight.

[bywolves]

[ Royce just shrugs, mightily, and nudges Alfie to drink. Go on. ]

[devoutish]

[He takes another, longer swig, then hands the bottle back.]

Oi. Royce.

[bywolves]

[ Royce makes a hmmm? sound as he takes a swig of his own. This one is one he savors a bit more. ]

[devoutish]

[Instead of saying anything, he shares a wave of affection and appreciation. He's in his favorite place right now: right next to Royce.]

[bywolves]

[ Oh. That makes him melty, resting his head on Alfie's shoulder, giving him a flood of appreciation and affection right back, letting it soak into both of them. He's so very happy to be here. ]

Hmmm. I like that.

[devoutish]

I like you.

[bywolves]

[ Royce laughs, elbowing him. ] I'd have to be an idiot not to realize that, at this point.

[ was that a confession, alfie ]

[devoutish]

Well, it's always worth saying. Gimme that bottle.

[bywolves]

[ He passes it over, and then, softer, simply, with a little pulse of something that's a bit more like love: ] I like you too, Alfie.

[devoutish]

[speaking of confessions, Royce

He goes all warm and gooey at that, which Royce will feel.]

You're welcome to say so anytime that you like.

[bywolves]

[ yeah, well!!!

Royce smiles, absently rubbing at his chest. It's not the anxious, uncomfortable rubbing, but something easier, absent. He feels a lot. ]

Hm, no. That was a one time thing. [ Tease, tease. ]

[devoutish]

[Alfie touches Royce's chest, featherlight.]

Ah, well. I suppose I'll need to savor it, then.

[bywolves]

[ Royce blinks, glancing down at the touch, and then pulls his hand away. ]

Sorry. That isn't - I'm okay. [ He says - just in case Alfie thinks he's feeling badly. ]

[devoutish]

I know. I can tell.

[He pulls his hand back too, though.]

[bywolves]

[ A beat, and then Royce takes another drink - he's starting to feel lightheaded, a bit. ]

[devoutish]

[Alfie gives him a glance, just to make sure that he's not feeling weird or uncomfortable - it's usually easy to pick up on that, if only because it closes him off.]

All right, my turn--

[He reaches to swipe the bottle.]

[bywolves]

[ He looks like he feels okay - and he feels like he feels okay, too, content. There's the slightest bit of discomfort as always just because he's so unused to sincere emotional displays, but. It's nothing serious. ]

You're going to have half the bottle done before I get drunk. [ Royce ribs at him, smiling. ]
