Lips are sealed. Give me back the wine, what did you do with it? [ where did it go ]

Why don't you come in and get it?

[Royce, you had to expect that one. He holds up the bottle teasingly.]

[bywolves]

[ ALFIE PLEASE ]

Absolutely not. I have plenty back at the house. [ Nyehhhh. ]

[devoutish]

[Dammit, he'd thought he might have him there.

Slowly, he starts to swim closer, bottle in hand.]

[bywolves]

[ Royce watches him come closer, with that same grin. He doubts Alfie's just going to let it go. A beat, and then in a fluid sort of movement, Royce launches himself forward to grab the bottle, plug it with his finger, and then gracefully swim very far away from Alfie, out into the lake.

He's not a bad swimmer at all. ]

[devoutish]

[Alfie starts laughing, maneuvering around to float on his back as he watches him go. He shouts after him:]

Like a fucking fish!

[bywolves]

[ Royce comes back up, treading water with an amused look. ]

Like a fucking fish. [ He agrees, calling back. ]

[devoutish]

Did you spill the wine?

[bywolves]

Did you just ask me if I spilled Montemorcey? What sort of heathen do you think I am? [ He's got just enough wine in him and just enough good spirits to joke around. ]

[devoutish]

You might decide to give the fish a taste.

[bywolves]

They would appreciate it about as much as you do.

[devoutish]

Ah, fuck off.

[He starts swimming out to Royce, much more slowly.]

[bywolves]

[ Royce stays where he is, though he doesn't drink much more. Drinking and swimming is a bad idea, to him. Even swimming is a bad idea, considering that he doesn't know what might be in the lake.

But he will just tread water lazily for a bit more. ]

[devoutish]

[Alfie reaches him, finally, and reaches out to cuff him on the shoulder.]

Hello.

[ Royce grins a bit. ]

Hello. You got me out here. Congratulations.

[devoutish]

Just when I'd given up trying, yes. You're infuriating that way.

[bywolves]

[ He's a cat, really, it's in his nature. ]

Have to make you work for it. I'm not going to stay out here long.

Yeah. We've got to dry off and watch our film.

Think they'll have anything you recognize?

Not if it can be played with a DVD player.
