Yeah. But nobody else, right, in case we get stuck together overnight. I've got a personal limit of no more than four in a house.

[Alfie might be fun to talk to, she just doesn't trust him. And she definitely doesn't trust Royce, so there's no way she's meeting them alone.]

Alfie. [ A beat. That's not right. Try again. ] Solomons.

[devoutish]

[You can call him Alfie, Royce; you're practically married, after all. He answers immediately.]

Is it done?

[bywolves]

[ No, it's the principle of the thing!! ]

Done. [ He pauses for a long moment. ] Where are you?

[devoutish]

How did it go? Are you hurt?

[Safety questions first.]

[bywolves]

[ He's quiet for a good couple of seconds, and then he sort of just leans against the wall with a sigh. ]

He fought back. [ But it's fine! He's fine. ] Dizzy. He hit me with something heavy. Against my head. Bit my fingers. [ He sinks back down to sit so he can drop the tablet on the ground (it clatters noisily) and pull his gloves off. That hurts, and Royce hisses sharply as he does it. ]

[devoutish]

[Alfie sighs, genuinely regretful.]

I'm sorry, mate. I should have been there. It went against my better judgement not to be.

[bywolves]

[ Royce huffs, trying to bend his finger. This time he bites back the pained sound, swallows it. ] Better this way. Now he'll be afraid of me.

[ And Royce is glad to have done something on his own. ] House tried to swallow your scalpel. Didn't appreciate that part.

[devoutish]

How bad are the fingers?

[bywolves]

One is broken. [ Royce mutters in irritation. It isn't as bad as it could be, though, he thinks. ] Bruises. Little bit of blood but I can't... tell if it's mine.

They ache. Nothing that won't heal.

[devoutish]

Your aspirin should help with the pain, but you might have a concussion, mate. Best not to take anything that could put you to sleep just yet. Have you talked to Tifa?

[bywolves]

[ He makes a grouchy sound at the advice, but doesn't protest. He knows. ] No. Haven't. I will.

I have to move first. Move houses. [ He grimaces. ] ... Can't put my gloves back on. [ He has mittens, thankfully, but still. ] Where are you?

[devoutish]

Past the school. Walking northeast.

Fucking hell. You could call Watson, but he'd ask questions.

[bywolves]

Not going to call Watson. [ Royce says, sounding annoyed. ] Not his business.

[ He digs through his pack for those mittens. ] Tifa... Tifa might help. I can catch up. I'm not far from the school, I - the house with the beads. That's where I'm at.

[devoutish]

[Alfie is annoyed at that response - not because of Royce, but because of Watson. If he were the type of doctor who could just do his fucking job without stucking his nose in places where it didn't belong, then he could be trusted to patch Royce up. But he's not, and he can't. Alfie misses his own doctor, from home - a man who is paid handsomely, and who can always be counted on to show up on house calls to treat patients with bullet and knife wounds. He never asks questions.]

I couldn't make it over to you tonight if I tried.

[bywolves]

[ Royce sighs heavily. ] It's fine. Just don't lose my things.

I'll make my way east tomorrow. You don't need to wait on me. [ He won't ask Alfie to, that'd be weak. ]
