[Well, this guy is clearly still an emotional wreck.

Even with the shellshock gone, he still reminds Alfie of some of the soldiers he'd met during the war - the younger ones, mostly. Some of them had been about to toughen up when they needed to, and had been reliable. Some of them hadn't. Alfie wonders which sort Rhys is, and decides to make sure he's never in a survival situation with the man until he finds out.

He sees the text when he wakes up on the morning of day 126, but doesn't answer right away. He waits until evening, when he's bunkered down in an impossibly dark basement and starts feeling the need for distractions.]

[ Probably early in the morning! Royce tries to get away from Tifa and Cloud long enough so that he can tell Alfie this, because it's important. It took a while to remember in the aftermath. ]

He was faking it. The limp. House. House was. [ He sounds rough, but... he's actually feeling pretty awake, despite not sleeping much the night before. Awake enough to get places. And hey, he's not as dizzy. ]

Tifa is curled up on the couch next to him, and Royce looks vaguely uncomfortable, but - worried, too. It's a twist to his features he can't hide, at the moment.

There's a beat, as Royce kind of just stares at the camera to make sure it's working and that both of them are in frame, and then he speaks. ] Solomons. Cloud was locked out.

He's dizzy (which he's somewhat annoyed about, underneath it all, wasn't death supposed to clear his concussion) and he can't breathe, and he's - really sort of afraid he's going to die again. But he's focused. If he focuses on doing this, he's okay.

Sometime during the night, Fiona wakes up. The pills can only do so much, apparently, and she sits curled up against Alfie for about fifteen minutes, hand still in his, before she starts to get antsy. There's nothing really to do but think, and somehow, her mind wanders to the fact that Alfie doesn't think she can steal anything from him. So she should.

She shifts experimentally, lifting their hands so that they're sitting on her lap and brushing her thumb along his knuckles, just to see how deeply he's asleep.]

[If she were going for one of the bags he has held tight against his other side, he'd notice. But when she lifts the hand that she's holding, he doesn't so much as stir.]
