When I saw him, he was feeling very, very guilty. I like the idea of him punishing himself forevermore, instead of being punished by us.

I do as well. He should feel guilty, the stupid, moronic brideeth.

Which is why I'm not gonna do anything to him. No yelling, no lectures.

I will not fucking give him anything that looks like punishment or retribution, even though he deserves it. He knows he deserves it, and he will feel even more guilty about not getting what he deserves.

He was going to tell the Admin I killed House. I don't know if he did or not.

I was trying to sleep. Ecks caught me unaware. Held scissors to my throat, stepped on my broken finger, and told me she knew I killed House. I told her why I did it. Because he broke a rule. [ This seems to be helping. He sounds like he's calming down further as he runs through it. ]

Watson came in. Called her to his side. She did. He asked what was going on, I told him. I told him so he'd know I wasn't provoking her, that she did it on her own. He jumped to deciding I needed to be tied up and kept away from everybody. He also said he'd tell the Admin.

I told him I refused to be tied up. That he could lock me in the room. That I didn't plan on killing either of them. Didn't want to. Watson insisted on tying me up. I warned him three times not to touch me. He said he didn't trust me. I said he could call Tifa to ask her for the truth. He said he'd do it after he tied me up.

He jumped me. Twisted my wrist. I tried to get free. Ecks sst -- [ Pause. Breath. ] Ecks stabbed me in the throat. Without warning. I had no time to react.

[devoutish]

He didn't tell me he'd tell the Admin, and he didn't tell me you'd offered to cooperate. He did tell me you'd said you wouldn't do it again. Let out the part about allowing yourself to be locked up.

[bywolves]

Of course. [ He thinks he'll be more angry later. For now, he's just tired. ] Makes him look better.

Wasn't going to let them drag me around as a prisoner. But that night I wasn't going to fight them.

[devoutish]

More likely he just forgot. He's not interested in making himself look better now.

[But Alfie is still pissed, because it's an important detail to have left out, purposefully or not.

He pauses, then snaps:]

I hope this haunts him.

She's going to get away with killing me, you know.

Oh, you haven't heard. He's taking responsibility for her.

[You can just hear the eyeroll in his voice.]

Yeah, he even offered to let me attack him in place of her, in case I was feeling mindlessly vengeful.

[bywolves]

[ Snort - and then he laughs. It's his mean laugh. ]

She needs to take the responsibility. She did it. [ A beat. ] He really does not understand. I told him I wanted nothing to do with House anymore. He just thinks we aim to be needlessly violent.

[devoutish]

What - do you mean to say I don't give off the impression of unending bloodlust?

[Definitely teasing back here.]

[bywolves]

[ Alfie is the best. Royce breathes out another sound of amusement. ] Oh no. You're very terrifying, Solomons. Unending bloodlust leaks from your pores.

[devoutish]

[In Alfie's mind, unending bloodlust would be easily outsmarted and therefore not terrifying. But pointing that out would ruin the joke.]

He did tell me he didn't contact the Admin. Your death was punishment enough.

[He's so pissed, Royce.]

[bywolves]

[ Oh. Wow, that's rude. Royce actually sort of bristles. ]

Punishment enough. As if he gets to decide.

I asked him if he knew what alerting the Admin would do. What she would do. He didn't have any bloody idea.

[ WOW, okay, so now Royce is actually angry. ]

He doesn't know what it would do. It could have killed me on the spot. Ecks would not have even had to do it.

Could have marked me in general. Could have made me a target.
