Probably? But I'm not the right person to ask. My memory's not the best. We've got people that are into making sure everything's being covered, don't we? Like Natasha.

I think we're covering as much as we can, right now.

[His tone is completely neutral - he doesn't mean anything by it, since he genuinely has no idea if something is being left to the side that they should be looking at. There are so many ideas being thrown around but so very little they can do at the best of times.

Of course, he's still very uncertain that Alfie's own little crusade really does anything to help anyone, but it's also not really disrupting anything else. The only reason Zach really cared about it was because he doesn't Alfie to get hurt.]

I just know that we're doing the best we can, here. Helping out Kes and her eye quest however we can.

[It's only been a few hours, but he's already calling back. He sounds part livid, part embarrassed, and part in pain.]

Batman knocked me out and took the Joker, I don't know where. I'm sorry.

We're close. We're going for the grocery store.

[Maybe they'll get lucky.]

[He's relieved that at least Alfie doesn't seem any more angry with him than before.]

Mm. I've still got her bracelet, though.

[That mollifies him a little bit. He'd really wanted that bracelet back.]

[He sighs, just sounding sad and tired.]

I'll take care of it, and you can have it back just as soon as possible. I don't have anything else, I don't think he had anything else of hers.

Mm. I can't even tell you which way they've gone. By the time I came round, any footprints were already gone.

How much food do they have?

[He hasn't really got any at all, but he's trying to think how much Batman and Joker had.]

Not a lot, I think. Batman hasn't picked any up in the last few days, I'm not sure about the Joker. If I had to guess, I'd probably say they'd head downtown towards one of the supply points.

So are we. We might meet at the grocery store. That'd be lucky, eh?

Yeah.

I'm going to head back up towards the hospital and see if I can see any evidence of them along the way, just in case they went that direction. If I don't find anything, I'll come back down and meet you to give you back the bracelet.

[He'll figure out his own supplies somehow along the way. Or he'll get really hungry, one of the two.]

I don't know if I'll ever have the stomach to wear it again.

[He turns on the video briefly to show Al his wrist, where he has on a similar bracelet.]

But it's a family piece, and it should be with its match.

[Poor guy. He feels a twist of sympathy for him, but he's said sorry enough and Alfie is probably sick of hearing it by now.]

It's not really my business, but I bet Fiona wouldn't want her memory to be the reason you stopped wearing it.

[devoutish]

It's not her memory that bothers me. I'll be thinking of it on his wrist.

[armoured]

That's probably what he wanted in taking it, don't let him win.

You're ascribing a human motive to the man. I don't think he's that reasoned. He's intelligent enough, but impulsive; rash.

[armoured]

He's still human.

[That's a dangerous misconception to labour under.]

Even if he's insane and impulsive, he's still human. He probably wanted to cause you pain, that's why he wore it.

He's fucking evil, mate. He's human biologically, but he's got no humanity.

He may have thought it was hers. A trophy. I had only just put it on her, right before I died myself.

I guess it doesn't matter in the long run. I have it back, it's safe.
