[ Royce glances at him. ]

He must've. Davesprite was the one who told me the name of the film he was referencing. [ It hasn't clicked yet, that there are what appear to be non-human actors. He's so distracted by the film being a thing in the first place, and by all the associations he's got with it, that it doesn't register. ]

[devoutish]

Yeah, but--

[Alfie gestures to the screen, where a battlefield close-up of a visibly non-human Elrond is shown. Really, the idea of special effects wouldn't be unbelievable to Alfie at all - but since he's actually met non-humans, the possibility of non-human actors jumps to mind before the possibility that human actors were somehow made to look flawlessly eleven.]

[bywolves]

[ A beat as Royce watches Elrond. ]

... He's an elf. [ What... Royce is clueless about special effects and films in general so he's very confused. ] Maybe House's world has elves?

[devoutish]

This doesn't look like Earth at all. Look at what they're fighting against.

[The orcs.]

[bywolves]

[ Royce rubs at his face. ]

I don't know what Earth looks like normally. [ A beat. ] Or how films work. Are they like recordings on the tablets? They actually happened, I mean.

Davesprite indicated to me that some of the stories were just stories.

[devoutish]

Yeah, the stories are sometimes made up. This one surely is; it's nothing like Earth history. But you've got to have people and creatures to play out the story.

[bywolves]

... I don't know. House didn't talk that much about his home world. Maybe they all exist where he's from. [ Which makes House's elf racism like eight times as bad, in Royce's opinion. ]

No, I don't think so. He called them fantasy.
