[Her eyes drift up and over and catch how close they are to those sand banks. She fumbles backwards, half on his lap, half off, to pull the sail in and grab up the oar ] Sorry-- just-- the mood still be ruined even more if we crash.

[devoutish]

Yeah. Yeah, go on.

[With a lazy grin, he reaches out to help steady her, if she needs it.]

But I hope to see more of you when we've landed.

[furgood]

[She throws him a brilliant smile, even as she starts to get things back under her control.]

Oh I think we can make that happen


[Despite her panic, she has them smoothly approaching the island within minutes. When they slide to a stop on the sands, it's a little jarring but only just a little. </ small>]

[devoutish]

Very nice.

[Alfie says approvingly. He's leaning back on his seat, watching the proceedings.]

[furgood]

You're easily impressed. Going to give me a big head.

[She jumps out into the shallow water and drags the boat higher onto the sand. ]

[devoutish]

Will this be easier if I hop out?

[Already he's impressed with her strength, but he doesn't want to make things unduly difficult.]

[furgood]

I mean, purrobably. Fur sure. But it's a little late. [She grins and leans back with all her weight, getting the boat a foot or two up the sand and then letting go to fall back on the sand] That should do it. I hope.

[devoutish]

Very impressive.

[He stands unsteadily, holding out a hand to her.]

Help me out?

[furgood]

[She scrambles to her feet, a little breathless ] Right.

[The side of the boat is easier to get out from, so Meulin walks over and holds out a hand, smiling crooked ] Have to get you back on dry land.

[devoutish]

[He takes her hand and, once he's close enough, kisses the back of it.]

[furgood]

[She smiles brightly and squeezes his hand ] Better?

[devoutish]

[Once they're both out and onto the sand, he pulls her to him, pressing her as close as he can get her, his shirt collar still unbuttoned and flopping open.]

Better.

[furgood]

[A warm flash of heat floods through her at his insistence. She reaches up to that bit of exposed chest. Well as best as she can, so close to him. ] Good. [She kisses him, just as eager while the hand at his chest works at the buttons. Multitasking. ]

[devoutish]

Have you got-- a hut? Anything?

[He asks as he slides the strap of her shirt off her shoulder.]

[furgood]

[Breathless laugh. ] Come on. There's a place I sleep. [She stumbles back to catch her breath and tugs him along the sand toward the trees. A couple huts are gathered there under the trees ]

[devoutish]

[He wraps an arm around her waist as they go, quickening his pace.]

[furgood]

[She does sneak a kiss onto his cheek and unwinds from him to push open the door when they're close enough ]

[devoutish]

[Once inside, he gives the hut only the barest of look-arounds - he's looking for something like a bed, or a couch. Even a bundle of blankets on the floor would do right now, he thinks.]

[furgood]

[There a couch, clearly used for sleep based on the blanket tossed over it. Meulin has different but no less important things to mind, like undoing the rest of those stupid fiddly buttons ] Changed my mind about buttons.

[devoutish]

I still like them.

[Hands on her shoulders, he nods at the couch, raising a hopeful eyebrow.]

[furgood]

[She hums an agreement and takes a step backwards with him, fumbling a little with his buttons still. ]

See if you like them when you're trying to undo them. I have a shirt with the tiniest buttons, you'll hate it.

[devoutish]

[When the backs of her legs hit the couch, he tightens his grip on her a little, in case he needs to steady her. Nudging gently, he tries to get her onto the couch, and if she goes, he'll follow.]

[furgood]

Have to frustrate you too

[It helps to have him holding her steady but she ruins it by dragging him given with her. When she hits the couch, her hands pull away from his buttons and wrap around his neck. ]

[devoutish]

[He grins, letting himself land next to her - halfway on top of her, really - and reaching once more to pull up her shirt.]

All right?

[furgood]

Yes please. [Grins and tugs on the hairs at the nape of his neck. But, in the interest of making the whole process easier, she unwind herself and drapes her arms over her head]
