[Hums] Mostly? But I guess I don't know where the lines are. We never really talked about things, just went with the flow.

[devoutish]

What sort of lines are you worried about?

[furgood]

Well are we monogamous? [She pulls a hand free to gesture with, she just can't help herself. ] Like does it bother you if I flirt with someone else? Date someone? I guess I assumed some exclusiveness but I never actually asked? And you and Royce, you're practically married, in all ways except romantic.

[devoutish]

[Alfie exhales, leaning back against the side of the pool.]

I was clear from the beginning, right, that I wasn't looking for anything serious. But--

[Exclusivity. They hadn't actually had a talk about that, had they.]

I haven't slept with anybody else. But it wouldn't bother me if you did, no.

[furgood]

I haven't either. And I don't think it would bother me a lot if you did. Though I wouldn't want to know details. [She wrinkles her nose]

I've flirted. And then wondered if I should feel bad about it or not, you know? So why not ask. Not serious doesn't mean not exclusive after all.

[devoutish]

Well, I don't think it would be very fair of me to ask for one and not the other.

[He gives her a quick, curious look.]

What's brought this to your mind now?

[furgood]

Like people are always fair.

[She smiles crookedly and waves her hand, splashing him a little] Oh I was talking to K about his love life and my love life. He wanted advice. Which made me think.

[devoutish]

Mm-- K's had a tough time of it since his own man left. Isolating himself a bit, from what I've seen. I'm glad to hear he's talked to you.

[furgood]

Its hard for him. I don't want to spill all his personal things but I think the lack of long term partner potential is difficult for him.

[devoutish]

I think the loss of one partner in particular is difficult for him. He and Conner were close, weren't they?

[furgood]

For a while, yes. But I think he wanted to move on? [Huff] It was a while ago, maybe he figured it out. Probably not. He wanted commitment and most people here are attached or uninterested.

[devoutish]

Mmmmm.

[Alfie leans back, looking at her thoughtfully.]

Were you interested?

[furgood]

In commitment? [Hesitant shrug] Not at the moment. Maybe some day.

[devoutish]

In K, is what I meant.

[furgood]

I barely know him. [Head tilt] ...I didn't ask this so I'd have your blessing to go after him, if that's what you think. He asked how I make this work, if I make it work.

[devoutish]

All right, all right; I was only wondering, that's all.

[furgood]

[Eyebrow raise] I did promise that if this didn't work anymore I'd tell you. I'm not going to sneak around it.

[devoutish]

Well, it wouldn't have been sneaky if you were working your way up to telling me all about it, but I do take your point.

[furgood]

Hmm, true. I'm not the very best at being forthright with this sort of thing.

[devoutish]

Really?

[He lolls his head to the side, looking at her.]

You don't seem so terrible at it to me.

[furgood]

You have a tendency to pull the truth from me.

[She crosses her arms on the edge of the bath, her head laid atop them] It's your superpower. A very one use superpower.

[devoutish]

And does it drive you mad?

[He asks, not even bothering to hide his cheeky grin.]

[furgood]

Every damn day. The worst.

[And she can't keep a straight face either]
