[ Royce throws his tablet against the wall, because his monster brain is incapable of being patient. ]

No. [ Is that clear enough, Alfie? It's louder than anything he's ever said in his life, he thinks. ]

[devoutish]

[There's the sound of a bag thunking to the floor as it's dropped, and the whispery sound of cloth sliding against the wall as Alfie sinks to the floor.]

[ Royce has to take a bit to calm down. It's a good five minutes of him climbing the walls, and then ten of him carefully, carefully arranging Gwen so she looks like she's asleep. He wipes the blood away using the fabric of his cloak - using himself. And then he finally goes to the tablet and picks it up. ]

I walk. [ Royce says, quietly. ] Not danger for lockdown. Come then.

[Alfie's hunkered down in Royce's cloak, hood pulled up. No wonder Royce likes it. It's cozy in there.]

Tablet off. For a while. [ He tells Alfie, quietly. He just - wants to walk in the snow and think. Work through what he did to Gwen. He needs silence. ]

Yeah. [ Royce wishes he could say be safe or - something, something other than that, but he can't. So instead, he just murmurs mate and hangs up. ]
