Mm... Yeah. Russia wasn't a great place for a lot of reasons back then, and it's got a lot of problems now, too. I mean, it's not everyone that's horrible, mind. It's just the people in power.

I try to keep an open mind when I meet people. But, yeah... overall, you get the impression, and it's not-good. But, yeah. Part of the reason the EU exists is a counterbalance to Russia and its power. China, as well.

When it's not Sherlock? Queen and country, as near as I can tell. He basically runs the government. Keeping power, maybe?

I'm not sure that'd go over well now. They weren't even at... I told Mycroft when the funeral was. He was meant to tell them if they're still around. There wasn't anyone there I didn't know. Maybe they are dead.

[Sherlock is dead. That's one detail that's easy to forget, mostly because Watson always talks about him like he isn't.]
