Kesara, though - she hasn't returned yet.

Did you ever end up talking to her?

Beckett hasn't either.

She never responded to my messages.

No? Not even when you first arrived, when I suggested you speak?

We talked once, back then. But more recently, she hasn't.

Mm. But she liked hearing about you and what you could do in the future, yeah?

I think so. [Not that it matters much right now.]

I think it was inspiring to her, just like she was to me.

She's a survivor. She's so strong, and smart. Of course she's inspiring.

[Even with how little Claire actually talked to Kesara, she could garner that much.]

She might come back to life yet. Not much of a chance of it by now, but still - it's hard for me to properly mourn a death here.

And isn't that part of it all, too? Not only we're constantly under the pressure and anxiety of being attacked at any point - by an anomaly or by each other, if not even by ourselves, but we're also made to latch on to these glimmers of hope that anyone could come back.

Keeping hope to get out, we need to, and we're moving ahead. But the hope that someone could come back just hurts. Stunts us.

[Her voice is soft, sad. In this moment, right now, she wants nothing more than to be home.]

Mm. Yeah. It's a double-edged sword, that is.

It's cruel. This whole place is just that. Cruel. Even these things we were given, these sentimental things. It felt good for a moment, but now I'm just reminded of how much I miss everything back home.

[devoutish]

Yeah. [She says it on an exhale, a little sad. She genuinely wishes she could give him a hug, and not in any kind of seductive way. Just as a comforting friend.]
