@jwatson, text, Morning 217
@ASolomons; audio
Just use the audio. If Sherlock is in the room, move to another.

It's not about anyone being in the room. I spent yesterday being strangled. Multiple times. Consensually. Don't ask. It hurts to talk.
[He hopes that's enough to let Alfie draw his own incorrect conclusions and move on.]

You used that excuse already. Sore throat, three days ago.
[His voice tightens.]
I don't know what's going on with you, but I am not in the fucking mood for these games today. Do you understand? Stop this and talk honestly, or don't contact me again.
[He hangs up.]

It was true three days ago. [He probably sounds like he's a 40-year-pack-a-day smoker at the moment. It feels like it, anyway.]

Right. Right, yeah, go back to text.
You're ill?

Did you find the aloe vera?

[He sends two pictures, both close-ups of the lower half of his face. In the first, the skin around his eyes and the side of his nose is red and chapped - not bad enough to be dangerous yet, but bad enough to be worrying. It looks like skin that had been exposed to the wind and cold air while wet. In the second picture, things are looking better. His skin isn't back to normal yet, but it's not peeling anymore, and the reddening is slightly decreased. A thin sheen of aloe has been spread across it. The dark circles under his eyes, however, are present in both pictures, just visible along the top edge of the images before they cut off.]
First picture's from yesterday. Second one's from today.

Nah, we prefer a quiet house now.

[Even in text, there's a Tone. He sighs in frustration to himself.]
Please. I know you don't want anyone around, and I'll leave it be if you tell me to, after this. Please just consider you were there for me when I needed someone. I want to repay the favor.
I also do still need to pick up part of that salt lick from you for the thing.
[The bomb, he means.]

Is it really supporting me if it's not what I want? Or is it feeding your need to feel helpful?
I'd rather talk over the tablets, when your throat is better.
no subject
Why?

But what are we going to do about the salt lick? I also had a pair of handcuffs I wanted to give to you if you ever need them. Picked up a few extra sets at the police station.

[This seems fake, Watson.]

A person like you might need them if we have one of those murder spree nights again. Or if you run into someone worse than you. If you're planning to clap them on me, we might have a problem, though.
