[He lets himself have a few long moments to just breathe Royce in. Then he pulls away, reluctantly, and moves for the door, still holding his hand.]

[ Royce is also reluctant to let go, but he does. It won't be long before he can curl up against Alfie's side at the treehouse, so he deals. ]

Wait. [ Royce says, roughly. He lets go of Alfie just for a moment so he can go find some paper and a pen, and hurriedly scrawls a note. When he returns to Alfie, he's holding that note. Bear leans against Alfie's legs, ready to protect them. ]

Need to leave a note. At the bulletin board. [ Royce explains, quietly, before taking Alfie's hand again. ]

[He reaches down and scratches at Bear's ears distractedly.]

For Zephyr?

[bywolves]

Yeah. I want him to know. [ Royce says quietly. ] Them. I promised I'd get them something from in the Void, too.

[devoutish]

They'll understand if you didn't.

I know. I still want to.

[ He likes Zephyr. Despite everything. ]

What are you gonna get them?

Don't know. Thought about one of the color plants. I don't know what their favorite color is, though.

[Cute, Royce. He shoves his feet into his boots - he hadn't bothered to untie them earlier - and heads for the door.]

Yeah, I will. [ He follows, pulling his cloak closer. ] Hopefully they have one.

They're enthusiastic. They may say all colors; any color.

Yeah. When I told them originally, they said they didn't want anything but they'd take a bit of whatever I brought back for myself, if that was fine.

But you wanted something special for them, mm?

Yeah. Just have to figure out what they like.

[Once they're outside, Alfie slips an arm around Royce. Bear trots slightly ahead of them both, keeping watch.]

Plants sound like a good idea. Flowers.

[ He leans into Alfie's side, tired, following along. ]

I don't know if they'll keep existing once I take them out of the Void.

Worth a try, though, eh?

Yeah. Worth a try. [ He rests his head against Alfie's shoulder. ]

[ Alfie sighs - contentedly, softly - and pets Royce's hair as well as he can while still walking. ]

Fiddler on the Roof, eh?

I'm glad you like it.

[bywolves]

Mm. [ He's a little on edge from being outside, but mostly, he's comforted by Alfie's presence. This is okay. ]

It's familiar. More than other films we've watched.

Mm. Might not have Jewish people, but the problems are the same in Elan. People wanting to marry each other despite everything telling them not to and dealing with the problems that come from that is common.

I didn't experience it much, but I heard a lot about it.
