[He says, his eyes a little distant.]

[She drops his hands and wraps her arms around him in a quick hug. She's seen that sort of look before] I'm sorry if I brought up something for you.

Nah - it's all right.

[He sounds genuine there, at least, as he gives her shoulder a quick pat.]

We've all got things that worry us.

[furgood]

[Skeptical but sure] And you hear far more of mine than you should have to.

No not really. Most people just don't or if they do I can change the subject. So it's on me if I worry you're pulled with my worries and nonsense. I told them to you.

[He looks down at their feet in the water, curling his toes in the sand.]

Come - step out of the lake with me. Getting cold.

That's apparently where my mind had gone with things. Overthinking.

[She steps out, back onto the bank, trying to be careful not to slip on the grass ]

[He keeps hold of her hand, and if she does slip at all, he'll murmur:]

[She catches herself and throws a little smile back at him] I'm fine. Just slippery, be careful.

[devoutish]

[He tries to be, edging over to a shallower slope of the bank.]

If I break a leg, will you help me hide it from Royce?

[furgood]

[She keeps hold of his hand just in case ] How would you suggest I do that? 'No Royce he always couldn't put weight on that foot, what are you talking about?' I could hide you at my place but he'd probably get suspicious.

[devoutish]

Very suspicious, yes. We'd need a proper plan.

[furgood]

I feel like telling him you'd be at my place and he couldn't come see you wouldn't work at all. Unless we hid your leg under a blanket.

[devoutish]

Wrap it in a blanket and play it off as the height of London fashion.

[He reaches his shoes, snagging them but not putting them on yet.]

Which I know an incredible amount about of course.

[devoutish]

Ah, well. No broken leg; suppose it's a moot point.

[That and Royce would actually be the first person he'd tell if he broke a limb, but.]

For the best. Wouldn't hide it from him anyways. Probablycan't carry you back myself.
