[Alfie chuckles under his breath, nudging Royce up the steps in front of him.]

[bywolves]

[ Royce heads on up the stairs and back into the treehouse, and goes straight for the bed, kicking off his boots. He takes off his cloak finally, too, and then flops down on the bed. ]

[devoutish]

[Alfie stops to stand next to the bed, looking down at him with a little smile on his face.]

Comfortable?

[bywolves]

I am now, yes. [ He yawns, stretching out like a cat. ]

[devoutish]

I like seeing you like this.

[He says, leaning against the wall.]

[bywolves]

[ Royce peeks up at him, with a hum. ]

I vastly prefer being this way, Lay down.

[devoutish]

And what if I'd rather look at you?

[bywolves]

You're welcome to, but I can't imagine it'll be very fun.

[devoutish]

[In response, Alfie grabs the end of a blanket and flicks Royce with it.]

[bywolves]

[ Royce laughs, batting at him, and then sits up to kick his leg out and trip Alfie a bit into laying on the bed. ]

[devoutish]

Oof.

[He's not expecting that at all, so it actually catches him. He sprawls, halfway on top of Royce, and pushes himself up with a little huff.]

Ass.

[bywolves]

[ Royce grins at him, shoving him off the rest of the way and onto the pillows. ]

Mm. That is me, yes.

[devoutish]

Yeah.

[Alfie rolls onto his stomach, closing his eyes. Do your worst, Mr. Masseuse.]

[bywolves]

[ Royce hums, and then sits up to start massaging. It's old hat by now, and he's pretty good at it, honestly. ]

[devoutish]

[And Alfie is, naturally, dozing off within minutes. Looks like he owes Royce that five quid.]

[bywolves]

[ Royce just laughs quietly to himself, not letting up. He'll let Alfie doze, and eventually, when he thinks Alfie's out, he lays down next to the gangster and closes his own eyes. He could use a nap. ]

[devoutish]

[Alfie will nap for a good hour or so, semi-aware but mostly asleep. But eventually, he'll crack an eye and peer down at Royce.]

I've still got something to give you.

[He says it quietly, so that he won't disturb Royce if he's really out of it.]

[bywolves]

[ Royce makes a grumbling sound and pulls the blanket up and over his head. He's awake. Mostly. Sleepily: ] Don't wanna walk back.

[devoutish]

It's something I made you.

[bywolves]

[ A beat. ] You made me something?

[devoutish]

Mm, yeah. With my own two hands.

[bywolves]

[ Royce pulls the blanket closer. Hruff grumble hrrr. ] Can't you just bring it here?

[devoutish]

I could.

[Pause.]

It's not-- useful. It's only a decoration.

[He doesn't want Royce to get his hopes up that it's something amazing.]

[bywolves]

[ He scowls and slaps a hand over to whack Alfie's arm. Gently. ]

Don't be stupid. It doesn't have to be useful to be important to me.

[devoutish]

I know that.

[He pinches Royce's elbow. Also gently.]

It's nothing like a knife or a cane, that's all.
