[ Royce dims it down, and then turns to curl a bit into Alfie's side. He doesn't want Alfie to feel the guilt, just the relief. A pause. ]

[ He nods a little. ]

He doesn't respond to being roughed up. [ Royce mutters. ] So don't bother.

[ Royce actually smiles a little, but it's under the hood. His voice is a tinge amused. ]

No, it was planned. He killed most of his extended family in order to be the owner of an estate. All of the people he killed were pompous nobles and their deaths were - clever. [ See, there's a reason Royce likes him. ] He also killed Bucky in Receurdo.

He's a smart, cunning man when he's not being an idiot.

[devoutish]

There is a reason he reminds me of Merrick, Alfie.
