He's quiet the whole way to the island, to the one with the dormant volcano, navigating the way in easily enough, but it isn't uncomfortable or upset. He's not a huge fan of being on the open water like this, but the end result is what he's focusing on.

[ Royce takes Alfie's hand, and leads him a bit down the beach, to a part of it that's easier to set out the mattress on. He's fussy - he wants it set up with the pump, and arranges the blankets and the pillows, and then flops down on top of it. It's a near perfect position to see the sunset, the stars - and eventually, the glowing blue crystals. ]
