[ Royce gropes for a blanket as well, but he can't quite reach it. With a little sigh, he mutters: ]

Both do. We should go back to sleep.

[devoutish]

Stay lying down.

[He pulls away and sits up with a groan, pulling the blankets off the floor one by one.]

[bywolves]

[ He frowns at the groan, but he does lay down, obediently. He'll help tuck the blankets back around them, though, ignoring the ache in his joints the best he's able to. ]

[devoutish]

Kicked all the blankets away.

[He mutters as he settles down next to Royce, not actually annoyed in the least.]

What did you do that for, eh? You'd better not be doing this in our cabin.

[bywolves]

[ Royce actually laughs, a huff of a sound. ]

Thought I was being suffocated by a static blanket monster. Won't happen again. [ His voice is wry and teasing, not serious either. ]

[devoutish]

Mm. And I'll protect you if it does.

[bywolves]

Like you always do.

[devoutish]

That's right. Knight in shining armor, me.

[bywolves]

Knight in shining armor, you. [ Agreed. With plenty of blankets wrapped around both of them. ]

[devoutish]

[Alfie settles, leaning back into them. Leaning back into Royce.]

Does that make you mine as well?

[bywolves]

I try to be. [ He says, tired, curling into whatever warmth he can get. ]

[devoutish]

You are. Fucking awful for my reputation.

[Not really.]

[bywolves]

Like you're not. [ Huff. ] Half the town heard you calling me sweetheart.

[ He doesn't sound mad about it, though. ]

[devoutish]

Ah, I'm sure nobody was listening.

[Except maybe Angel and her hypersensitive shipper ears.]

[bywolves]

[ HUFF!!! ]

I don't care. [ Everybody thinks they're gay anyway. ] I'm just saying everybody heard.

[devoutish]

I don't care, either.

[Pause.]

Wasn't even thinking about it at the time, if we're honest.

[bywolves]

Mm. It helped, in the moment.

[devoutish]

[Aww, Royce.]

[bywolves]

It's the truth. [ Might as well be honest. ] You always help.

[devoutish]

I'd hope so, considering all the time we've spent digging each other out of holes, mate.

[bywolves]

[ He pets absently at Alfie. ]

I'll keep doing it, too. Digging you out. [ He sounds tired. ]

[devoutish]

You don't have to worry about that tonight.

[Alfie says gently, covering Royce's hand with his own. He's all right.]

[bywolves]

Just for tonight. [ Royce murmurs, curling up closer. A long, slow sigh. He's relaxing, at least. ]

Alfie.

[devoutish]

[Alfie adjusts just enough to be able to look down at him.]

Yeah.
