To facilitate the spread of supplies, requested goods and goods available for trade may be listed here. ALFIE SOLOMONS may be contracted as broker for an additional fee to be negotiated by the parties involved. Brokerage services may include:

Negotiation of the trade deal
Enforcement of the pre-arranged terms of the trade deal
Delivery of goods

Once an agreement has been reached, the broker will require a small nonrefundable deposit, to be paid as soon as possible. Full payment will be due once the trade has been completed.

Participants must be aware of the risk involved in trade in Norfinbury, including but not limited to significant delays caused by unforeseen town activities and the disappearance of trade goods to due the deaths of one or more participants. The broker will be responsible for making a good faith effort to see a deal done, but cannot give a 100% guarantee of success. The initial deposit is nonrefundable regardless of the outcome of the deal, except in cases of negligence on the part of the broker. If a trade fails or is cancelled for any reason, final payment will not be required. Purposeful failure to uphold any part of an agreed-upon brokerage deal will result in future blacklisting from brokerage services.

The broker will not act as an enforcer for deals made by parties who do not hire him as broker from the onset, and no protections or guarantees will be given in these cases.

[Sherlock, that's an awkward question. John doesn't exactly have room to talk about wanting to keep it nice for a girl if she needs it. John sighs and picks through his pack before coming out with the bra. It's red and lacy and does, indeed, have an underwire.]

Don't destroy it. We might still be able to use the fabric for something, too. Have you got something to cut with?

It's not really my colour.

[He smirks and holds his hand out for it. Come on, John, give it.]

The fabric is too little to be of use, the wire is the important piece. You can take it off your list of trade items, I'll have it.

Earmuffs, Sherlock. Davesprite was using a bra for them. [He sighs before handing over the bra, then pulling out his scalpel and offering that to Sherlock.]

This comes back to me. I need it more than you do. Be careful taking the wire out. [A pause.] And I'm sure you'd look lovely in a red bra. Talk of the town. Should I tell everyone you're the one who's traded for it?

Cheap, machine stitched edges, a lack of double stitching around the underwire channel, and a thin, poor-quality lace. I think not, John, if I were going to wear a bra then it would be of significantly higher quality than this.

[Don't ask how he knows about bras. His time with Janine was trying in more ways than one.]

[He takes the scalpel and digs it along one seam, opening it up to take out the springy wire beneath, before starting on the second cup.]

[There's a sudden vision John has of Sherlock in ladies underwear and the doctor slaps a hand over his face and groans. Where's some mental bleach when you need it?]

Describe a gruesome crime scene to me. Now, please? In excruciating detail.

[He blinks over in bemusement for a second or two, before his brain pieces together the issue.]

Behave, John. Honestly.

Honestly, yourself!

[Think of the lady in pink. Think of the little children who'd been kidnapped by Sherlock's look-alike.

John pulls out his tablet to go and make a change to his list of offers.]

You'd look terrible in a bra, whatever color or quality.

[There. Just having that out there.]

Then it's probably for the best that I lack the necessary physical need for the support of one.

[His eyebrows stay raised for a moment, before he just starts laughing.]

[There's a beat as that sinks in, then John finds himself giggling along.]

Stop that! Don't be funny when I'm annoyed, you git. [It makes staying annoyed more difficult.]

[He keeps snickering as he slices the other underwire out.]

Don't be annoyed, John, you have sacrificed your bra for a worthy cause.

I'll mark that down in my notes, shall I? Day 174: Underwire bra donated to Sherlock Holmes' 'worthy cause.' What are you even planning to use the wires for?

You aren't keeping notes any more, not after the publication debacle. You really should start again, blogging was inexplicably good for you.

[He doesn't miss that Sherlock deflects from answering about his plans for the wires, but the mention of the debacle quiets him down.]

I've been keeping a few notes. [Just scattered things here and there to make sure he doesn't forget to check certain things. Nothing comprehensive.] I don't want to risk another accident, though.

[He waves off the concerns with a single dismissive flick of his fingers.]

I need you to keep notes for me, it's too tedious to do myself.

[That's only half a lie. It does help John to be writing.]

[That gets a thoroughly baffled look from John. Sherlock needs him to keep notes? Whether or not Sherlock's looking at him, he'll likely feel the weight of the silence as the cogs tick away for what the hell the other man actually means. Because Sherlock Holmes doesn't need him to take notes. John Watson needs to take notes because he doesn't have a great bloody mind palace.

It's another second or two before things click.]

Oh. [Sherlock's trying to be nice.] Oh, right. [John licks his lips as he considers what to say.] S'pose I could start up again. [And keep two separate files to avoid the last debacle.]

Could even restart the blog... [Sort of.] Share it about what you're getting up to for anyone who wants the information. 'The Anomaly's Foot' or maybe 'The Firehouse Problem'?

[Did you think he'd get away from the terrible names in another universe, Sherlock? No. Never.]

[Sometimes; often, actually, John is far too perceptive. He sees things about Sherlock that most people wouldn't, looking beneath the often rude exterior to the man underneath. It's why they make such good friends.

He wrinkles his nose in disgust.]

No, I don't think so.

[Let's not go overboard.]

There's no need to start inflicting that sort of writing on everyone again, especially not with those sensationalist names.

[He hopes John does start it up again, names and all, it will be good for his mental health and mean he's on top form to assist Sherlock without any messy conversations about feelings.]

[That just gets a small smile from John. He'll leave Sherlock to his efforts with the wires, then, and see what things other people might be offering or what they need.]
