I like arguing. Royce can tell you. We'll get to debating something, and he'll say he doesn't want to fight, and I nearly don't have the heart to tell him I've been enjoying it.

[ She laughs a little. ]

Most of the time, he just doesn't want to hear an opinion that doesn't reflect his own. [ Sniff. ] I have noticed you're very firm. You know what you think and it takes more than just a few words for someone to change your mind. Royce and his silver tongue - he isn't used to that.

[devoutish]

I like that we think differently. Now, don't get me wrong, I appreciate our similarities, but I think our differences make us fit together just as well. We compliment each other.

[He looks over at her.]

I'm sure that's what makes the two of you work, as well.

[avere]

Mm. I think you're right. I also think you'd find him boring if he didn't disagree with you.

[devoutish]

I need a challenge, is that it?

[ She just grins at him. Of course you do, dude, she knows it and she knows you know it. ]

You two are gonna gang up on me, I can already tell.

[But he's pretty sure he and Royce are going to gang up on her too.]

We will, yes. But you'll gang up on me, and you and I will gang up on Royce. [ She squeezes his hand. ] I'm looking forward to it.

[devoutish]

[He says honestly.]

You know, we've talked about bringing my family over as well, if they'll come. If we can.

[ That actually gets her to look excited. ]

Oh, I would adore that, I'd love to meet every single one of them. Do you have lots of children in your family? [ She just wants to be that Cool Aunt, honestly. ]

[devoutish]

My brothers and sister have got kids, yeah. Six in all. And I've got young cousins, and the children of cousins.

[avere]

[ She smiles, warm. ]

I'm going to spoil them rotten, I hope you know.

[devoutish]

That's all right, I already do. Little shits. The girls, especially.

Little girls are menaces, it's true. [ A pause. ] I'll talk to Lala about it. For the future. Maybe between two godlings, we can bring them here.

Both. I do believe it, and I hope that is a comfort.

[ She takes his hand again, holding it tightly, but doesn't say anything. She knows he has to be pained, thinking of them. Like she is, when she thinks of Royce, of Mercy. ]
