[ That is insufficient petting, Alfie, but she allows it for now. She knows when the two are settling down to cuddle so she'll get her pets soon enough. As for Royce, he doesn't move, but he murmurs, in return: ]

Can't wake someone who isn't sleeping. You took forever.

[devoutish]

I didn't. Ten minutes, that's all.

[Ten plus fifteen plus probably a few more, but okay. He reaches for Royce's hand, knitting their fingers together.]

[bywolves]

[ Royce hums, peeking open an eye. ] Your time perception is terrible.

Now we're both cooled down and sweating much less. Thankfully.

[devoutish]

You're lucky I'm not making you shower, too.

[bywolves]

I don't sweat. [ Royce says primly - which is only half true. He does, he just doesn't as much. Because half elves are weird. ]

[devoutish]

Yes, yes; you're physically perfect in every way. Do elves really not sweat at all?

[bywolves]

[ Snortlaugh. ] I don't know about full elves.

I just don't sweat much. Not as much as you or Hadrian.

[devoutish]

Does Hadrian give you shit for it, as well?

[bywolves]

Not to my face. He likely thinks it.

[devoutish]

Well, that's me, innit; speaking things that other people keep inside.

[He grabs the wine bottle with his free hand and brings it over, settling it in Royce's lap.]

[bywolves]

It is. [ Royce agrees, taking the wine bottle. He nudges at Alfie. ] Sit up. Can't drink lying down or I'll drown.

[devoutish]

[Alfie lets go of Royce's hand so he can scoot up in bed.]

There we go.

[bywolves]

[ Sitting up, Royce sprawls against Alfie's side. It's warm, but the trees are doing a good job of making sure the sun isn't too overbearing through the skylight. ]

Mm. [ Royce hums in agreement, uncorking the bottle. ] There we go.

[devoutish]

[Alfie drapes both arms around Royce, pulling him closer.]

Comfortable?

[bywolves]

Mmhm. Always. [ He says, pleased. Here goes the first sip, which he enjoys very much. ]

[devoutish]

Right. Is getting drunk still the plan, then?

[bywolves]

I don't know, is it? You're the one who suggested it.

[devoutish]

[Alfie lightly kicks him in the ankle.]

It is, yeah.

[bywolves]

[ With a bit of a grin, he takes another swig, and then hands the bottle to Alfie. ]

Yeah, mate.

[devoutish]

Mar above.

[He swipes the bottle and takes a swig of his own.]

I seem to remember you once telling me that drinking out of the bottle like this was fucking sacrilege. How far we have fallen, eh?

[bywolves]

It still is. [ Royce says, dramatically. ] But I'm too old to care about what sort of sin I'm committing. And I'm comfortable. Don't want to get up to get glasses.

[devoutish]

Mmm. I'm not sure that we have any up here, anyway. Terrible oversight.

[bywolves]

[ Royce just shrugs, mightily, and nudges Alfie to drink. Go on. ]

[devoutish]

[He takes another, longer swig, then hands the bottle back.]

Oi. Royce.

[bywolves]

[ Royce makes a hmmm? sound as he takes a swig of his own. This one is one he savors a bit more. ]
