Will you come to the library with me? I've got something in mind.

[bywolves]

[ Curiously, Royce glances at him. ]

... Sure. Right now?

[devoutish]

This evening. I'd like to find a comedy film, get drunk, and laugh ourselves silly.

[bywolves]

[ Aw, Alfie. Royce shifts, taking his hand again and holding it tightly. ]

I like that idea. Yeah. We can do that.

[devoutish]

[Just gonna kiss those knuckles again, because it got a cute reaction the first time.]

Do you have a good film in mind?

[Alfie... really doesn't; he hasn't watched any comedies here.]

[bywolves]

[ He gets that same little pulse of happy - it's involuntary, like a thrill. ]

I don't. I don't usually pick new films to watch. There is a comedy section, though.

[devoutish]

We'll find something.

[And he's grinning now, wide and unabashed, mostly because of those pulses Royce is sending his way.]

[bywolves]

What? Why are you smiling like that? [ Royce huffs at him, knowing entirely why. ]

[devoutish]

You.

[ur cute.]

[bywolves]

[ WEH. Royce grumbles, sitting up and plucking at his shirt, trying to fan himself. ]

I didn't even do anything.

[devoutish]

Mmmm. I like it when you share your feelings, though. Sometimes it feels like you're not even doing it on purpose.

[Like it's become natural and automatic.]

[bywolves]

[ Royce smiles just a little. Tilts his head back, to look at Alfie over his shoulder. ]

Mm. This time wasn't on purpose. I can't help it sometimes. Just happens.

[devoutish]

That doesn't bother you, does it?

[bywolves]

No. It's a little embarrassing sometimes, I suppose, but not terrible.

[devoutish]

Not terrible at all.

[Have some nice feelings of peace and contentment, Royce.

But then Alfie sits up with a groan, idly rubbing at his knee.]

-- Well, what do you think? Shall we go look for a film?

[bywolves]

[ He likes those feelings, and he gives Alfie a little back of his own - kind of like an emotional hug. ]

Yeah. Let's go look. Are you sure you don't want to try on one of my shirts?

[devoutish]

Yeah, I do. I do want to, actually.

[Pause.]

You don't mean out of the house, do you?

[bywolves]

[ Royce looks amused. ]

Yes, I did. It won't kill you to be seen in a short sleeved shirt, Alfie.

[devoutish]

[He flicks Royce on the nose.]

I would look ridiculous in public, Royce Melborn; do you want that for me?

[bywolves]

You would not. [ He argues, wrinkling his nose. He pinches Alfie in the side. ] You'd look fine. I'm going to wish for short sleeves for you.

[devoutish]

[He lifts one of his arms and curls it, like he's showing off his muscles.]

[bywolves]

Yeah, see? [ Royce says, grinning a bit. ] You look fine. Better than me.

[devoutish]

Give me one of your shirts and I'll try it on. But I'm not gonna wear it out.

[bywolves]

[ Royce huffs, but he pulls himself to his feet and offers his hands to Alfie to pull him up. ]

[devoutish]

[Up he comes, only stumbling a little.]
